The Joy of Art

It is becoming increasingly evident – initiatives that help people with Alzheimer’s get involved in art and other creative activity obtain surprising results. Scientists have discovered that Alzheimer’s disease normally spares, to a very large extent, the parts of the brain related to emotions, creativity, and creative expression. Join us as we explore, discuss and create art together.

August 10th 10 am – 11 am

EXPLORE – Join us on a virtual tour of an art museum. We will look at some very well known art pieces and discuss our impressions and how art influences us and makes us feel.

August 17th 10 am – 11 am

DISCUSS – After a brief video we will discuss how art affects the brain and share some resources.

August 24th 10 am – 11.30 am

CREATE – After a brief video we will have some fun and create together. (You do not need any special “artistic talent” to participate in this workshop. We are just going to have some fun together.) All supplies will be provided.
